Coordinating and Maintaining New Hampshire's Public Boating Access

NH AccessThe Public Water Access Advisory Board (PWAAB)'s charge is to advise, monitor and coordinate state agency public access efforts including the Statewide Public Access Program. The Board is in support of the Fish and Game Department's Public Access Program to maximize these state ownerships on public water for the public's benefit.

The Board is comprised of 19 members representing the following organizations and interests (defined in RSA 233-A): NH Fish and Game Department; Department of Natural and Cultural Resources; Department of Environmental Services; Department of Transportation; Department of Safety – Marine Patrol; Office of Planning and Development; two members of the general public; one Senator; two House members (one from Resources and Recreation Committee and one from the Fish and Game Committee); public members representing the following interest groups: hunting, fishing, power boating, lake associations, rivers associations, non-motorized boating, coastal/marine interests, and the Governor's Commission on Disability. Members are appointed for a term of 3 years.

Public Water Access Advisory Board members have worked on a number of important access endeavors over the years, becoming a central repository for access information and fostering a communal effort between state agencies that deal in public access.

Public Water Access Advisory Board meetings are open to the public. Routinely, these meetings occur on Mondays in alternate months (starting in January), from 9:00 AM to 12 noon

PWAAB Meeting: 

The public is invited to attend the next meeting of the Public Water Access Advisory Board scheduled for Monday June 3rd.  It will be held in the East/West Conference Room on the first floor of the NH Fish and Game Department Headquarters building at 11 Hazen Drive.  The meeting will start at 9:00 AM
